History
The kit that goes around the shot
What defines this range best are the standards it meets. All three shooting eyewear frames carry ANSI Z87+ certification, anti-fog polycarbonate lenses with a UV400 filter, and they also meet MIL-PRF 32432: the US military ballistic specification, which measures not scratches but how the lens holds up to a fragment travelling at high velocity. That is a different order of demand from a pair of sunglasses, and it explains why a shooting frame is built to weigh and wrap the way it does.
Alpha Electronics ear defenders attenuate 23 dB and carry two microphones working on a threshold: they amplify whatever falls below 85 decibels —a range command, a dog, a companion— and cut out above that figure, which is where the shot begins. That cut-off is what lets you spend the whole day in the stand with the cups on, still hearing, instead of lifting and lowering them between shots.
The rest of the range is transport and maintenance, and nearly all of it shares one material: ballistic fabric in both long-case series, in the range bag, in the backpack and in the magazine pouches. Add to that two cleaning kits —the hard case for home and the field pouch that fits in a vest pocket— and the Delta Force torches, in anodised aircraft aluminium and with memory of the last mode used.
One point about the name, worth knowing: M&P is a Smith & Wesson Brands trademark, and the equipment bearing it is made under licence. The last page of every catalogue says so literally —“registered trademarks of Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc., used under licence”—. M&P began as handguns and long guns; we distribute none of that and this page is not where to look for it: firearms are bought from an authorised gunshop.

Cases and transport bags
All in ballistic fabric and all with shoulder straps: two long-case series, the range bag and the rucksack.

Duty Series transport case
A padded long case with an end-to-end zip, adjustable nylon shoulder strap and reinforced handles. Outside are a zipped pocket, an open central pocket and a row of sewn-on AR magazine pouches, which distinguish the three lengths: three pouches on the 34-inch case, four on the 40-inch and five on the 45-inch. All three are twelve inches high and two inches deep.

Pro Tac transport case
The higher series: full-length double zip and full-length adjustable padded two-inch shoulder strap, spreading rather than concentrating the weight. On the 42-inch case the maker specifies a 31 × 13 × 1.5-inch zipped full-flap outer pocket, two internal rows of M.O.L.L.E. webbing with four interchangeable hook-and-loop straps, and padded front, rear and base.

Twenty-two inches wide by fourteen high and ten and a half deep, with a double zip on the main compartment, wraparound nylon handles and rubber feet on the base. Inside are two full-length pockets, two padded zipped 13.5 × 9.5-inch sleeves and a padded inner ammunition bag with two side pockets, two adjustable dividers and two sets of vertical pockets. It also includes a drawstring nylon bag for collecting spent cases.
